1. What the job actually involves

Induction cooktops draw between roughly 3.5kW and 7.2kW depending on the model, so they need a dedicated circuit rather than a share of an existing one. The electrician disconnects the old appliance, connects the new cooktop to a suitable dedicated circuit (or runs a new one from the switchboard), makes sure the circuit has safety switch protection, and issues a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work. 3. Scenario 2: A new dedicated circuit is needed
