Why Home Workshops & Sheds Need Three-Phase Power

A single-phase supply gives you 230V and around 63A to play with — shared across the whole property. Add a 3-phase welder, a decent air compressor, a lathe or mill, dust extraction and a CNC router, and you're well past what one phase can comfortably carry, even before the house itself is accounted for.

Three-phase power delivers up to 415V across three balanced circuits, giving heavy motors the stable starting current they need without tripping breakers or dimming lights every time a machine kicks in. It's also simply required — most serious workshop machinery, from MIG/TIG welders to industrial compressors and CNC spindles, is built for a 3-phase supply.
