How much does EV charger installation cost in Sydney?
Every home and switchboard is different, so we quote fixed prices rather than publishing one-size-fits-all numbers. Your supplied-and-installed quote covers the EVNEX charger, a dedicated circuit and protection sized to your switchboard, weatherproof mounting, termination, commissioning and app setup - with no hourly-rate surprises. Which EVNEX charger should I choose?
The E2 Flex suits budget-focused homes with good Wi-Fi and no solar. The E2 Core adds built-in solar charging smarts and is our most popular pick for homes with rooftop solar. The E2 Plus adds a longer cable and 4G backup for detached garages. The X22 is a 22kW three-phase charger for three-phase homes, businesses and fleets. Do I need three-phase power for an EV charger?
No - a 7.4kW single-phase charger adds up to 50km of range per hour, which fully recharges most EVs overnight. If you want 22kW charging with the EVNEX X22, you need a three-phase supply. As Level 2 ASP electricians we can upgrade your home to three-phase power as part of the same job - one crew, one quote.
Can my EV charger use my rooftop solar?
Yes. The EVNEX E2 Core, E2 Plus and X22 include solar charging smarts that divert your excess solar generation straight into your car instead of exporting it to the grid for cents. Solar capability can also be added to the E2 Flex as an upgrade later.
Will an EV charger overload my switchboard?
Not with an EVNEX charger installed by us. Every model includes home overload protection: the charger monitors your total household load and automatically winds back charging before your main supply is ever overloaded. We also size the dedicated circuit and protection to your switchboard as part of every installation, to AS/NZS 3000:2018.
Why should a Level 2 ASP electrician install my EV charger?
A Level 2 Accredited Service Provider can work on the network side of your meter - consumer mains, metering and supply upgrades - that ordinary electricians can't touch. If your home needs a supply upgrade, a three-phase upgrade or switchboard work to support EV charging, High Demand Electrical completes the whole job in-house across the Ausgrid, Endeavour Energy and Essential Energy networks.
