2. Check your car before your wiring

The charger only supplies what the car's onboard AC charger accepts. Many popular EVs accept around 11kW on three phase, some accept the full 22kW, and some are single phase only. There is no point paying for a 22kW circuit that your vehicle will use at half rate, so confirm the onboard charger specification first. 3. Does your property have three phase supply?

Some Sydney homes already have three phase, particularly newer builds and homes with large ducted air conditioning. 4. The switchboard and load questions

Even with three phase in the street and at the board, the installation still has to pass the capacity test. 5. What the installation involves

A straightforward 3-phase install runs: supply assessment, network application if an upgrade is needed, switchboard work, then mounting, wiring and commissioning the charger with your vehicle.
