The detail is where they part ways. Endeavour Energy presents its safe approach distances in two tables: Table A for authorised and instructed persons (500 mm and 1,000 mm respectively at low voltage) and Table B for ordinary persons.

Ausgrid's document runs to more than 200 pages and slices the same problem differently, with a separate minimum safe working distances table, an absolute limits of approach table, and a dedicated mobile plant table. That mobile plant table grades distances by the operator's training level — untrained, trained or authorised — and by whether a safety observer is present, which matters the moment a crane or EWP sets up in the street.
